My guest today is Leah Stumpf.
Leah is a third degree black belt and multiple time world champion in Brazilian jiu jitsu. She’s also a former wilderness ranger in Alaska and a current coach and pioneer in building Brazilian jiu jitsu programs for women.
We discuss her time as a wilderness ranger in Alaska and close encounters with brown bears that she had. We also discuss her martial arts journey and how she went from karate to jiu jitsu, worked her tail off and becoming a multiple time world champion. We discuss the challenges and nuance of building jiu jitsu programs for women, why women should consider jiu jitsu, and why jiu jitsu gyms should be more considerate of women.
It was an honor sit down with Leah; I hope y'all enjoy.
