Kara and her husband Jeff own and operate Colorado Craft Beef - a ranch in Eastern Colorado founded over 100 years ago by Kara’s family. Kara and Jeff combine the deep history of their ranch with an adaptive approach that allows them to raise the best beef possible while strengthening their community and feeding America.
Kara and I discuss how her family founded the ranch over a century ago, how imporant food sovereignty is, what the pandemic taught Americans about the food supply, the impact of wolves being re-introduced on Colorado ranchers, what Americans outside of agriculture get wrong about agriculture, how ranchers win, why Kara trains jiu jitsu with her family, and more.
